Kerry Ferguson, Instructor & founder of The Yoga Tree
Kerry founded the Yoga Tree in January 2003 with the support and love of friends, her own family and the students that have become her family. She has been teaching Yoga for 6 years. She is a certified Yoga Instructor and has studied and practiced Yoga for 10 years. Kerry is also a licensed massage therapist and certified nutritional counselor, she utilizes all these modalities in her classes at Yoga Tree. Kerry was raised in this area and her passion for holistic health care and healing began in her teenage years. After recieving her Bachelors degree from the University of Alabama in 1992, she spent over ten years traveling and living in various places throughout the continental US, Alaska, Mexico, South America, the carribean and New Zealand.

Not only traveling but by being fully immersed in unique communities, Kerry has had opportunity to grow and learn with a variety of skilled and highly trained instructors and experience a vast array of healing modalities. She applies these experiences in the scope of her teaching at Yoga Tree. Her style is an ecclectic blend of styles, branching from Anusara and Ashtanga to healing and restorative Yoga. Her teaching is founded in the structure of Iyengar and embraces the energetics of nature and universal principles of healing and movement. Kerry's love for sunshine, the outdoors and water are what initially connected her with her inner calling to Yoga. She feels moved by divine spirit and blessed to share yoga with her community. It had always been a dream to share with the community an opening of mind, heart and spirit. Although Kerry's heart lies embedded in the foundation of the Yoga Tree, her heart expanded beyond belief with the blessing of the birth of her son, Arjuna in May of 2005. She feels that children are filled with wisdom and an amazing amount of love and are sent to us to teach us to learn and grow and experience on a higher level unconditional, everlasting love. Kerry sets a tone at the Yoga Tree that is welcoming and supportive to all on every level at any stage of healing.
